Blaines is very excited to present a video by one of our local artists, Max Romey. Max is a plein air artist who finds beauty and meaning in the challenges of the Alaskan wilderness, while also soul searching. He brings what he’s learned, and what he is experiencing to life through his sketches as well as his video productions. If you haven’t seen his features ‘Trailbound Alaska,’ or ‘If You Give a Beach a Bottle,’ you’re missing out. His latest video ‘Skiing Across the Page’ (which you can scroll down to watch) is particularly relatable to those of us afraid of, or intimidated by, a blank page. There are also a few helpful hints about watercolor painting in the Winter, in case you are WAY more tenacious than the average bear… like Max. We’re proud to cheer on an artist whose motto is “Have fun. Make mistakes. Go sketch!”
We couldn’t agree more, Max.
